ERRAR is a limited edition project of 300 numbered and signed copies.
More than half of the material contained in this publication is produced during different itineraries in Italy, Belgium, France, Greece and the United States during the years 2022-2023-2024.
We have been making this book for 2 years since our last launch with the YKSUHC monograph . The very good reception that this editorial publication had allowed us to continue working on similar projects like the one we bring you now.
The author, often linked to the early New York graffiti style, gradually began to separate himself from this school, without distorting or much less abandoning the essentiality of the practice. The illegal, playful, grotesque, ironic and humorous character was always characteristic of many of his creations. Currently, in some of his pieces by him, the letter as a fundamental element, sometimes acquires an overflowing presence through words that acquire a substitute role for the usual masterpiece . Reflection on the limitations and possibilities of graffiti, its means, materials and methods; the singular juxtapositions, critical or unusual, of words and images; the issues of perception, disappearance and visuality in relation to the abstraction of the name through figuration or the elaboration of texts, are the themes that Yksuhc has dealt with in recent years, both from theory and practice.
The book consists of:
- A Foreword by Craig Castleman (author of the seminal book Getting Up).
- An introductory text and a longer one, in the form of an essay , on the possibilities faced by “the exhaustion of graffiti”. This text, in particular, is a desire to share perspectives on the creative will and the materialization of ideas. Both written by Yksuhc
- More than 150 full-color images that show a selection of unpublished and unique pieces, accompanied by drawings, psycho-geographical maps, explorations and atmospheres of unusual places. The photographic captures mainly focus on actions on mobile supports that travel through railway environments: passenger cars, freight cars and locomotives. But also alleys, tracks, tunnels and other spaces.
- Texts and notes by Fernando Figueroa that include comments and analysis of specific works where he describes the current situation around the development of Chusky’s work.
- Texts in the form of: notes, poems and fragments of different travel diaries produced by Cynthia Meliá & Yksuhc.
- Photographic collaborations by: Yum, Feito, Flask, Dug, Hosio, Brouk, Mufi, D. Jaleos, Lama, Neiks, Jaime Alekos, Oveho, Afiler, Kami, Kyklothymia, Luquerías, Hec, Hast.
