The architect Alain-Dominique Gallizia fell madly in love with graffiti and asked famous graffiti artists to build a collection for him. It has happened. He made it available to the public for an exhibition at the Grand Palais des Champs- Élysées in Paris: Le Tag au Grand Palais – De Gallizia, 27 March- 26 April 2009. Commissioned by Alain-Dominique Gallizia, the graffiti artists worked on the theme of love. Many have drawn hearts: Meak 06, Kea, Yaya, Wen, Ero, Kase 2, Askew, Dealyt, Cyde, Amazen, Zeky, Stayhigh, Blake, Popay), Nov, Swen, Butch 2. Other graffiti artists preferred to write the word love (West, Mizo, Coco 144, Kel1st, Crash, Mace 139, Take 5, Reso).
Alain-Dominique Gallizia has chosen to put the issue of TAG in the public square by presenting his collection of 300 works by 150 of the greatest international artists.
On Sunday, May 3, 2009, the exhibition Le Tag at the Grand Palais – the Gallizia collection – closed its doors after welcoming 80,000 visitors.
This book is both the illusion and the memory allowing the general public to discover this culture and a panoramic approach to this art. This reference work will allow some (museums, companies or individuals) to undertake or complete their collection as well as possible.
This book shows the canvasses created by ca. 150 international graffiti artists/writers. See pictures for an impression.
