1995. A miliestone year in the history of graffiti in Greece. Graffiti has taken Greece by storm. The walls of the cities are flooding with paintings. As the firts painted train wagons were crossing the country traveling from Athens to Thessaloniki, “germ” of graffiti “transmitted”almost as fast as those trains. The first interactions and friendships between individuals from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala and more cities and with help of the correspondence between them led those graffiti artists to the first joint paintings and the first meetings and festivals. Graffiti is spreading like wildfire throughout almost all the major cities. The first crews are formed. It’s the time for scheduled paintings, fonts, portraits and a different approach. 1995. The year where graffiti interacts not only with the means of transport but with the media as well. We witness tentative entries in the press and the first timid appearances on TV. This year is the first step, the starting point of graffiti’s journey. Graffiti becomes more vivid and increases as a whole, art spreads and is really promising. And, as we’ll see on the next volumes, these promises are not vague..
