The book about the Upper Class Graffiti Crew from Zurich. With their ingenious productions, which often showed graffiti in a surprising context, UC caused an international sensation. 448 pages and more than 460 analogue photos and sketches from 1985 to 1999, many of them previously unpublished.
Suddenly she was there. Not just twice, three times, but x-times. Mostly directly on a Zurich main traffic axis, in large, neatly executed block letters. The letter combination: UC. The striking pieces were not signed with tags. Which was very unusual at the time, in the summer of 1990.
The upper class crew left many colorful traces in the 90s. Wholecars, nestled in a picturesque Swiss mountain landscape, became UC’s trademark. With such actions, which showed graffiti in a new context, the UC Boys caused an international sensation and inspired the next generations of graffiti writers.
Now, almost 35 years later, this book about the Upper Class Graffiti Crew is being published. Apparently out of nowhere again. The original idea for this was basically already in the DNA of Upper Class. Above all, it was MONIAK who always held the opinion that it was better to use the photos of our actions sparingly – not to publish everything. One day, he said, the time would be ripe for it. It has been for a long time.

With such actions, which showed graffiti in a new context, the UC Boys caused an international sensation and inspired the next generations of graffiti writers.
Because a good photo was always part of the actions and UC had been photographing with SLR cameras since the beginning, very beautiful, analogue images were created in terms of quality.
In addition to the photos of Pieces and Trains, there are also 32 pages from the Black Books. In this chapter, the paper changes to sketch paper.
You can also find unpublished MODE 2 sketches there.
