Da Kukse Wa is one of the most sought-after publications among collectors of graffiti literature. It is an unique contemporary document that pays tribute to the early Dortmund (Germany) graffiti movement in the form of interviews or photographs.
Da Kukse Wa has achieved cult status in the graffiti scene after its publication in 1987. The brochure captures the beginnings of the Dortmund graffiti scene and at the same time gives an exclusive and deep insight into the mentality and passion of the artists of that time.
For manny collectors Da Kukse Wa is the holy grail of graffiti literature, with content from the old school legends such as Zodiak, Shark and Chintz.
The first edition is almost never offered for sale and on the one occasion that it is, the enthusiast pays an astronomical amount for it.
On the occasion of the exhibition I WAS HERE in Dortmund (2020), the brochure has been published for the first time since 1987. The second edition is, with the exception of the preface, identical to the original.
Because the first edition is so hard to find, this 2nd edition caused quite a hype amongst collectors who, although not the original, definately needed it in their collection.
