It also features rare old footage from the early years of Amsterdam graffiti dating from 1978-1983.

Kroonjuwelen is a 2006 documentary film about the origin of graffiti in Amsterdam. The story tells the experiences of the Amsterdam graffiti writers. From the first principles of the punk period to the apotheosis of the Amsterdam metro to the world of contemporary design and art. Its history begins in the punk and crack era in the late 1970s and early 1980s. An era highlighted by template artist Hugo Kaagman and poet / writer Diana Ozon. HIGH tells about pioneering, territories and the heyday of graffiti in Amsterdam. Graphic designer Niels ‘SHOE’ Meulman, tells from his office and the neighborhood where it all started for him how graffiti has influenced his work to this day. ZAP dives into the metro tunnels of Amsterdam in search of history and above all adventure.
