GraffitiArt: Le Guide De L’Art Contemporain Urbain 2019

Why this Guide?
In this new 2019 edition of the Guide to Contemporary Urban Art, we have chosen to take a more in-depth look at the work of fifty artists. Our choices were guided by the desire to discover or rediscover signatures to which our editorial staff has been particularly sensitive over the last twelve months.
It is obviously not a question of an “objective” classification but of a selection which seems to us to reflect a certain state at a certain moment in the scene of contemporary urban art.
Another innovation for 2019, the choice not to present only studio works but also to come back to the external works, murals or others, of the artists that we defend here. The primary criterion of the taxonomy of urban art is the work produced outdoors and we wanted to underline our attachment to this approach. In this context, it was even possible for us to introduce artists like Eduardo, Tresoldi who do not specifically produce studio work. This opening was therefore particularly fruitful.
Each edition of the Guide is a high-level job and I would like to thank the artists, their agents and their gallery owners who have always shown patience and commitment to provide us with the material that we are presenting to you today. Its exceptional richness expresses itself.
The Guide’s collaborators also provided exceptional work in a very short timeframe to enable us to get out in time for one of the most important weeks of the year in contemporary art.
In a way, this Guide also represents a personal achievement within this amazing and invigorating wave of urban art and I thank all those who allow me to make these beautiful publications there under the GRAFFITIART label.
