If we look at the street scene in Oss in the early 1980s, the first principles of a subculture are visible. Names of groups and persons appear on walls, glass containers and telephone boxes.
Influenced by the Gang culture, which came over from America, the youth from the Osse neighborhoods such as Schadewijk and Krinkelhoek are beginning to express themselves. In this pre-internet era, aerosol cans and felt-tip pens were used as a form of mutual communication. This publication provides an overview of the first ten years of Graffiti in Oss. From the first slogans to a fully developed graffiti style in the 90s.
Words by Moron DOA, Chris ‘MEK’ van Os, Interviews with FLU, Dens TMS, Rigs DOA, Tee Million Dollar Boyz. Photos of tags, 80’s- 90’s pieces, blackbook sketches, trainsbombings, newspaper clippings.
