Mad About Rails project is bigger than a magazine, it has been made to focus the attention on the European network of freights graffiti enthusiasts.
Nowadays, no one can deny that the freights movement is the most increasing phenomenon regarding graffiti, just few years ago trains were almost clean, but now it’s even hard to find a free space to paint. Probably less considered and valued than other graffiti disciplines (metro or train bombing or hall of fame painting), we decided to show it off to as it is, to offer the possibility to take a look into a real movement, a bit underground, but very lively, with lots of not-so-well-known real players and with so many emotional images and stories that can’t continue to stay hidden.
This magazine would be an opportunity for graffiti writers to show and tell their stuff and stories, giving fuel to their (and our) passion by sharing fresh pieces to publish on the next issues of the magazine.
Graffiti lives in the streets and in the train yards and we want to keep it real, escaping from the bad habit of sharing life on the internet, doing a magazine that will last more than a post on your favorite social media. Internet things sound like plastic, we’d like to bring back to you the smell of rust, grease and spraypaint as it is, out of the spotlights. Obviously some social media made really easy to catch some photos from the writers, but our aim with this magazine is to document and show what is really going on the European freight trains network, not that internet fake bullshits!
You can’t find Mad About Rails on the social networks, but you can try to follow us alongside the rail tracks of Europe
