More than 25 years after his arrival in France, graffiti is still too often reduced to its pseudo-social character. The concept of Blackbook is to break with this largely limiting approach by presenting the personal work of a graffiti artist, Woshe, and the universe in which he takes place. Adept of a classic style inherited from the New York pioneers, the author provides tools to allow another reading, perhaps more relevant, of his alphabetical stunts. After a first didactic part, which offers keys to understand the logic of construction of the 26 letters of the alphabet, are declined the multiple ways of assembling them together to lead to a rhythmic and harmonious lettering. Woshe thus puts the reader in a condition to look with fresh eyes at his most significant works, presented in the third part.

Born in 1972 in the Val de Marne, Woshe discovered, fascinated, his first graffiti at the age of 14. He thus began to draw his own sketches while gleaning as much information as possible about this artistic practice. He then discovered a real culture, initiated by pioneers, rich in history and bearer of positive values in which he recognized himself. Today in charge of training in a structure dedicated to helping associations, he continues to be driven by the same passion for the letters of the alphabet.
