Malcolm Jacobsen (b. 1973) is a photographer and journalist. He has recorded Swedish graffiti since 1988. This book is a declaration of love to the writings and characters that grow out of the walls around us. The book is an important document of one of the greatest art movements of the twentieth century. Most of the paintings in the book have already been destroyed. Here they are kept as photographs, which also represent their environment and the people around them. Graffiti is a fascinating combination of art, adventure, friendship, liberation, school and crime. In the book, graffiti writers speak openly about their lives, why they paint, and what the consequences have been for them.
