From Getting Up/ DAIM:
“The first Urban Discipline exhibition was organized by getting-up in 2000 and took place in the I-Punkt Halle in Hamburg. Its aim was to convey a type of snapshot of global graffiti culture to its visitors.
27 artists from all over the world were invited to Urban Discipline 2000; 27 individuals with diverse focuses, opinions and skills, united by their passion for graffiti art. Many of the artists involved knew each other well, had already collaborated with one another in some form, had shared experiences and mutually inspired each other.
Together they constructed several hundred square meters of wall space in a former skating rink, which was to be used for the presentation of canvases, sculptures and installations to the general public. In addition, an open-air gallery housed further impressive murals that remained on show for many years after the exhibition.”
