The book presents a selection of works created by Jean Dubuffet during the last years of his life, an anthology of works by “historical” New York graffiti artists (Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Donald Baechler, Kenny Scharf, James Brown and Futura 2000) and some works by today’s graffiti artists (among them Rossana Campo, Marc Chevalier, Erik Parker, Stefan Hirsig and Michele Chiossi). The selected works show how Dubuffet, animated by a spirit that is always young and attentive to every new artistic manifestation, was able to understand and rework the phenomenon of metropolitan graffiti with great clarity.
