Volume 2 from U.DIG’s Copycats! Copycats is ‘bout the huge trend in graffiti culture when writers photocopied eachothers blackbook pages. In this 80’s era, pre internet, this was a great way to spread styles and socialize while trading or selling eachother photocopies. It was common for people to add their tags or stamp to the photocopies. The early days of getting cheap fame. Writers from all over the Netherlands send eachother packages with copies. This phenomenon spread to other European countries and had a huge style influence on Dutch graffiti. ‘Copycats’ includes known and unknown writers and gives a good view of what went down during those founding years in the Netherlands.
